The works in this exhibition move between two central motifs—confections and femininity. Glossy pink donuts evoke indulgence, desire, and delight, while the portraits of women offer a more intimate counterpoint. Their expressions, gestures, and environments suggest stories that linger just beneath the surface—stories about beauty, expectation, and the roles women inhabit or resist. Hutchinson's visual language draws from mid-century Americana, retro diner aesthetics, and pop-inflected color palettes, creating a world that feels both familiar and slightly surreal. The persistent use of pink ties the works together, transforming the exhibit into an immersive environment that invites viewers to reconsider their assumptions about the color and what it represents. Students learn the specifics of studio art mediums in a hands-on program designed to develop creative skills while fostering a theoretical and historical understanding of the arts. The fundamental building blocks of all studio art courses are to instill skills in divergent thinking, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Students learn divergent thinking through self-exploration and personal experimentation. Discovering innovative solutions through examination, education, and perseverance develops creative problem-solving skills. Critical thinking skills are honed when students are asked to respond conceptually and formally to challenges with consideration of their own personal experiences and observations. Creativity is fostered through challenging and goal driven projects that are open to individual interpretation and self-exploration. These qualities learned in our studio art classes are also skills that are utilized in nearly every aspect of a person's education, career, and journey through life.

Nadine Soldivieri is an accomplished performer and teacher with an extensive background in the performing arts. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and has dedicated her career to both performance and education, sharing her passion with students of all ages. Her training spans a wide range of disciplines, including tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, gymnastics, acrobatics, voice, and theatre. Each week, campers will rotate through three engaging classes, with new teachers and themes. This offers fresh experiences and exciting new projects through the summer. Each class is led by one of our dedicated instructors and lasts for an hour. There is downtime for snacks, stretching, games, and lunch. Participants will meet new friends and take-home artwork every week. AgeGrades K-5 (must have completed Kindergarten) Registration & PaymentRegistration is on a first-paid, first-served basis. WaitlistIf a weekly session reaches 50 participants, ACA will create a wait list. Wait listed families will be contacted up to 5 PM on the Monday of each session if space opens. General InformationAtlantic Center for the Arts' Summer Art Camp welcomes you to ACA Yurick Studios! We're excited to offer campers the opportunity to explore different artists and artistic styles through creative, hands-on instruction. AgeGrades 6-9 Registration & PaymentRegistration is on a first-paid, first-served basis. WaitlistIf a weekly session reaches 15 participants, ACA will create a wait list. Wait listed families will be contacted up to 5 PM on the Monday of each session if space opens. ScholarshipsFinancial aid is available for students in need of assistance. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, as long as funds are available. Full scholarships are only awarded in cases of extreme hardship.
